Griffin 2

Presidential Pits provides rescue, education, and community outreach for the promotion and protection of pit bull-type dogs in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas.

Presidential Pits is a 501(c)(3) organization that is staffed entirely by volunteers.  The organization, founded in 2011, believes that all dogs should be treated as individuals, regardless of their physical characteristics.  In addition to saving pit bull type dogs from local shelters and placing them in foster homes, Presidential Pits collaborates with other local organizations and community members to hold educational events for those involved in rescue and advocacy, as well as for adopters, potential adopters, and members of the general public.  Working tirelessly to make sure that pit bull type dogs are given an equal chance at finding their loving forever homes, Presidential Pits is an invaluable resource in their community.

Featured Adoptable:

Griffin 1 Meet Griffin!

Griffin (named after Redskins player RG3) is a handsome, 2-year old, blue-brown guy who loves to play, run, learn new tricks, and snuggle.  A happy-go-lucky and social pup, Griffin enjoys interacting with people and playing with doggie friends.  Griffin loves playing fetch, going for hikes, and laying in the sun. He’s also a total love bug and will lean up against you and rest his head on your lap.

If you are looking for a fun, sweet, social, and smart pup, Griffin is your boy.  He is currently living in a foster home with two other dogs and can’t wait to show his great manners to his forever family!
