Jake

Rescue Dog of the Week
Jake is a very special “pocket pittie” looking for his forever home. For Our Friends rescued him from the New York City Animal Care and Control where his life was on the line. He is blessed to be in a caring foster home, but we are urgently seeking a forever home for him where he can be someone’s special boy. Jake is a young guy, under 2 years old, who landed in the city shelter when his owner fell on hard times.
Unfortunately Jake most likely had a broken bone or injury in his leg that was never properly cared for, and so now he is stuck with a limp. But this does not stop Jake — he is just a very happy, peppy dog! Jake is extremely affectionate, and a lap dog – luckily, at under 40 lbs, he is small enough that he will fit on your lap. He also has a special affinity for children – he just loves them and is very gentle with them! He also likes small dogs very much, but larger dogs seem to make him feel nervous. We believe he will be okay with cats; we can do some further testing if you have a cat and are interested in him.
Jake is fully vetted, neutered, and up to date on his shots. He’s a dream dog, and he will be your lover boy for life. You can read more about Jake here. He is available for adoption in the New York City/Long Island area; we will consider out of state adoptions within reasonable driving distance. You can find more information about Jake here. If you are interested in meeting or adopting him, please email For Our Friends at fofadopt@nyc.rr.com, or call 516.616.3076.
