Surprise Cubes
As the weather gets warmer, you can make these frozen broth cubes and toss them to your pup as a reward and to help him cool down. Or she can just chase them across the deck until they melt and reveal the surprise tidbit.
Ingredients:
- Low- or no-sodium (preferably homemade) chicken, beef, or vegetable broth
- Variety of small treats – kibble, small pieces of chicken, blueberries, etc. – use your dog’s favorites
Instructions:
- Put one treat into each individual ice cube mold.
- Pour cooled broth into the molds, about ¾ full.
- Place in freezer, leave until frozen solid.
- Use as needed.
Note: These work even better if you use ice cube trays with very small molds – more treats for your dog, but with less mouthing and slobbering of giant ice cubes.
