Rescue Dog of the Week

Meeka is an amazing 2-1/2 year old Pit bull / American Bull Dog mix . While in her Out of the Pits foster home she has earned her CGC (Canine Good Citizen title) and she has become a Certified Therapy Dog! She also took and passed her TT with flying colors. This girl has it all. It is rare to find a Therapy Dog in rescue! We would love to see her going to a home that would continue with her therapy work. But if not, at least her adopter will know that her temperament is stellar and well-suited for therapy work.

She has excellent manners around other dogs in public, and, while she has lived with male dogs in the past, it would probably be best if she is placed as the only dog. Meeka has also lived with cats in the past, but we would feel most comfortable with her in a feline-free home.

Meeka is solidly housebroken. She is crate trained, but doesn’t need it, as she is good when left alone in the house. She loves car rides and is good with all people, big and small. Don’t miss out on this fantastic pup!

Meeka is available for adoption through Out of the Pits in Albany, New York.

StubbyDog offers the Rescue Dog of the Week feature as a way of helping homeless dogs find forever homes. StubbyDog relies solely and in good faith on information provided by contributing organizations. We do not temperament test, behavior screen, or background check any of the featured dogs.
