Rescue Dog of the Week

Bonnie is just that – a sweet, bonnie lass. She is a medium sized dog, about 55 lbs. She was found as a stray and ended up in a kill shelter where she caught the eye of one of the For Our Friends volunteers who also works at the shelter. She is incredibly gentle and shy and sweet, timid at first, but when you get to know her she is super-cool. Once you are her friend, she might politely wrap her paws around your waist, or give you a gentle lick on the cheek. When she sees or gets close to another dog though, Bonnie really comes alive with pure joy, wriggling all over and wagging her tail. She is a real dog’s dog. She is also one of those rare dogs who just naturally walks like a dream on the leash. She is about 2 yrs old, with a sleek black coat and some delicate white markings on her face, chest, and paws.

For Our Friends seeks a home or foster for Bonnie in the greater NYC metropolitan area, but would be open to homes along the east coast within driving distance. Please contact FOF at 718-595-2161 or email if you would like to meet her. You can also see her on our website.

StubbyDog offers the Rescue Dog of the Week feature as a way of helping homeless dogs find forever homes. StubbyDog relies solely and in good faith on information provided by contributing organizations. We do not temperament test, behavior screen, or background check any of the featured dogs. StubbyDog does not receive any financial incentive or other consideration for providing this service.
