Darlene – Adopted!
January 17, 2013
Rescue Dog of the Week
Darlene had a bit of a bumpy start – surrendered to a shelter in Los Angeles, she was adopted by a family who quickly decided that she was too energetic and surrendered her to yet another shelter. Thanks to the efforts of Karma Rescue, Darlene was rescued from the shelter and placed with a foster family.
Darlene has been great with her foster family, and has received training and exercise to keep her energetic side in check. She is an absolute cuddle monster and belly rub junkie; she also adores kids and playing with other dogs.
When her active side kicks in, she will put any retriever to shame with her fetch skills; she would also make a great jogging partner. Darlene has also mastered running on the treadmill at her foster home. She can be a typical pit bull clown, occasionally breaking out into full speed zoomies. Although thriving in her foster home, Darlene is still looking for her perfect forever home.
Darlene is now about 18-months old, 50 pounds, spayed, micro-chipped, completely healthy, up to date on her shots and ready to go home! She is house- and crate-trained and shows no sign of separation anxiety or any behavioral concerns. It really doesn’t get much better than Darlene.
Darlene is available through Karma Rescue in Los Angeles. For more information or to meet Darlene, please visit Karma Rescue’s website.
