StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

Hope is a beautiful, freckly pit bull (mix) about 3 and a half years old. She is spayed and in excellent health.

Hope came to the Humane Society of Fairfax County from a high-kill shelter in 2011. She was adopted and lived happily with her new dad for many months until he took a job with very long hours and then determined he could no longer keep her so she is back in our care. We certainly don’t mind having her with us as she loves the staff and volunteers, and they love her, but you can see she longs for a human of her own.

Hope has had some obedience training and she listens well. She loves to go for leash walks, play with her toys and snuggle up closely for some quiet time. Oh, and belly rubs – she can’t get enough of them! She will even let you dress her up for a few silly photos. Hope is an only dog kind of girl. We just don’t see her as a dog-park kind of girl. And cats? Not so much…

One of her sweetest features, we think, is her conversational skills. She loves to talk (not bark, but chat, especially if she hasn’t seen you for a while!). It’s like she’s saying “Woo woo woo … I’ve missed you! Come on in and tell me where you have been?!”

HSFC adopts locally. Interested adoptive families please contact HSFC at 703-385-7387.
Humane Society of Fairfax County is located in Fairfax, VA.. You can check out its adoptable pets page.
