Rocket Dog Rescue: Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It

Have you ever seen such a handsome boy? Jiggy is a 2-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever/pit bull mix from a rural shelter in central California. Shelter staff and volunteers worked hard to find this deserving boy a home, but his time ran out. Fortunately, Rocket Dog came to the rescue!

Despite his loving disposition, he did not come from a good life. He was found roaming the streets, dragging a cable that was tied to his chain collar. He has scars down his neck, back, and hind legs. Animal Control believes he was badly burned or dragged.

You would never know about Jiggy’s rough past. He is loving, playful, and eager to be your best friend! When he came into the shelter, Jiggy was not afraid of the shelter staff and was very calm and gentle while they examined his injuries. He was so grateful for some food, water and love. During his bath, Jiggy was relaxed and enjoyed being pet, even around his past scars.

Jiggy loves people and will devote all his attention to you. When it comes to playtime, he turns into a big 65-pound puppy! He walks very well on a leash and would make an excellent running, jogging, or walking partner. He is potty trained and learning basic commands.

Jiggy is currently available for adoption through Rocket Dog Rescue. Rocket Dog Rescue is a San Francisco Bay Area dog rescue organization run by a group of dedicated volunteers. We save dogs from death at over-crowded shelters and find them loving, happy homes.

Now into our tenth year, RDR is stronger than ever, and has saved the lives of over 6,000 animals. In 2011, we were honored with “Best Non Profit Organization” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Check out Rocket Dog Rescue on Facebook.
