A Sanctuary for Snoopy

While Snoopy’s profile didn’t exactly fit any of the profiles of open foster homes, there is a very human component of receiving all these photos and write ups every day, and Kim’s heart melted. She determined that Snoopy seemed like he could be a fit for our sanctuary program.

She is super lovable – adores having her belly rubbed and loves people. She is very easy to train and very treat motivated. She enjoys going for walks, but is happiest sitting with her people and getting belly rubs. She makes us all laugh with her adorable snort noises and soft snoring when she sleeps.

I always thought I could never foster. I would often volunteer to walk dogs or play with them on weekends, but I always thought fostering would be way too hard and that I’d never be able to let them go after forming a strong bond with them.

Could Your Pit be a Therapy Dog?

I knew Omega would make a great therapy dog the first time I met her at a Pit Bull Rescue San Diego adoption event. She was on the sidewalk outside a pet store – with the chaos of dogs and people all around – and she only wanted one thing: to cuddle.

We discovered Pit Bull Rescue San Diego and started helping at adoption events and walking foster dogs. I began snapping pictures of the adoptable dogs, and soon I was being asked to more events as a photographer than as a dog handler!
