Pearl the Pit Bull

Pearl generally brings a welcome smile to anyone who decides they can’t resist petting her! What a wonderful way to show to the kids that Pearl, the pit bull, is a prime example of what pit bulls really can accomplish with proper training, commitment and of course, love!

Could Your Pit be a Therapy Dog?

I knew Omega would make a great therapy dog the first time I met her at a Pit Bull Rescue San Diego adoption event. She was on the sidewalk outside a pet store – with the chaos of dogs and people all around – and she only wanted one thing: to cuddle.

A Goddess of Love

Freya, meaning goddess of love in Norse mythology, is now 6 years old. She visits nursing homes, a veteran’s hospital and veteran’s center. In the past she has also gone to the library so that children can read to her, and she has gone to elementary schools.

Expect the Unexpected

My quest for a therapy dog began with a prayer and continued with inspiration from a sermon I had heard that went like this: “Your prayers do get answered, of course, maybe not in the way you had planned!” How many times have we all heard this? But what he said next is why I chose to rescue Kendra. He said, “This week expect the unexpected!”

Kane is Able

Kane made it very clear he wanted to visit all the patients on the floor. He led me from room to room to visit with each patient. The patients loved him.

Coal the Super Dog

Coal enjoys the visits where he gets to meet and greet new people. He has a habit of looking into a person’s eyes with his soft and soulful brown eyes before giving them a gentle nudge with his soft muzzle to remind them that he loves to have his chest scratched.
