Pasha is the poster child of an older, well-behaved, people-, child- and dog-friendly girl who ended up in an unfortunate situation. My daughter adores her and showers her with attention, all of which Pasha loves.

It was up to me to take responsibility. So I did. I jumped right on the bandwagon of changing perceptions about pit bulls. Including mine. I have never been sorry. I feel sorry for people who are subjected to me now, as I attempt to proselytize them about the awesomeness of pit bull type dogs.

I became a pit bull person totally by accident. We went to adopt a dog that was listed on PetFinder as a Lab mix, but when we got there they said he was actually a pit bull mix. We adopted him anyhow, and the prejudice we encountered drove us to become advocates.

Well, an itty bitty pittie found me, and I’m forever changed because of it. Lucy has opened up my life to a whole world of new experiences. She’s been certified as an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen and is loved by all of our neighbors and friends.

Pearl the Pit Bull

Pearl generally brings a welcome smile to anyone who decides they can’t resist petting her! What a wonderful way to show to the kids that Pearl, the pit bull, is a prime example of what pit bulls really can accomplish with proper training, commitment and of course, love!

Buddy the Therapy Pit Bull

Twice Buddy was pulled from the euthanasia room by volunteers who said, “He is just too friendly!” One kind shelter worker finally called Molly, and she high-tailed it down there to pull Buddy for good.
