I had never had much exposure to pit bull type dogs and, truthfully, I was always a bit leery of them. The huge head, jaws and teeth struck me as a bit intimidating. Thankfully, it didn’t take much for me to change my mind.

Tally was placed in our most “well-seasoned” foster home. With patience of saints and several wonderful role model resident dogs we knew this would be the best spot Tally could begin to heal. And we could begin to fundraise to have that terribly injured eye removed.

It was up to me to take responsibility. So I did. I jumped right on the bandwagon of changing perceptions about pit bulls. Including mine. I have never been sorry. I feel sorry for people who are subjected to me now, as I attempt to proselytize them about the awesomeness of pit bull type dogs.

“That’s not a pit bull, is it?” asked my future landlord, as she suspiciously eyed the photo of my dog, who was listed “Boston Terrier/Beagle” mix on his rabies’ papers.
