Rescue Dog of the Week

Meet Duncan!

Duncan is a young adult male pit bull, with the most striking white build with just a few well placed black patches. Add in his pink and black speckled cow nose and he is about as cute as they come! Duncan was pulled from animal control by Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue, so we don’t really have much history on him beyond that he ended up as a stray and was not reclaimed. Someone else’s loss in this case though will surely be another’s gain! This guy is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash.

Duncan is a world-class snuggler, so you can be sure your days will end with some great stress-relieving cuddles. While Duncan finds cats too interesting for sharing a house with, he has fostered with other dogs and would appreciate a well-matched companion. Word is this guy even swims…and what do you know, summer is right about the corner! Who wouldn’t want a new lake or river or pool buddy around?

Despite Duncan’s good looks and great personality, he has been waiting longer than most. In rescue, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason behind which dogs wait and which get snatched up quickly, and this is one of those cases that has us scratching our heads, because he such a fun guy! Like many dogs, he will benefit from a good leader and a strong connection to his person to help him make the best choices. He is generally good with other dogs, but does need solid direction and proper handling for successful introductions. He takes to training wonderfully (like most every pit bull we’ve ever met, of course!), so if you’re looking for a sweet new companion to join your life and family, take a look at our dear Duncan. And to round out his doggie resume, Duncan even has experience living with children!.

Duncan is being fostered in the Twin Cities/Minneapolis-St. Paul area. For more information about adopting, visit Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue or visit us on Facebook. To learn more about Duncan, email adopt@mnpitbull.com.
