Rescue Dog of the Week

Hello! My name is Amelia, but the foster lady calls me Amelia Honey Bee because I have beautiful honey colored eyes that will absolutely melt your heart, and I like to buzz around like a little bumble bee! I’m about 2 years old and I just love this new life that I have! My foster home is great and I really love to flop on the ground and get expert belly rubs by foster dad. I enjoy running around and playing with my foster brother, but I can get a little verbal when I play – some dogs might not like that, so I’m working on keeping my voice to a more appropriate level. I know how to sit and lay down and I’m crate trained and house trained. I sleep in a dog bed at night, but sometimes I get invited into the foster parents’ bed and I just LOVE that! I get to snuggle with them all night long and there’s just nothing better! I also love to snuggle with my foster brother and we often share a dog bed.

Now, there are a few things that I have to tell you. My ears seem to have been cropped in an at-home job with scissors and they’re a little uneven, but I think it makes me super adorable! I was a little nervous being in my foster home at first. I was rescued from the shelter by Homeward Bound and before my foster home, I didn’t have much experience in a house. The hallway was a really scary place, but with a little love and patience, I became a hallway rock star! Indoor stairways still make me a bit nervous, but I don’t have any of those at my foster house. With some more patience and lots of love, I think I could become an indoor stairway rock star, too! I’m a really loving girl and I have never met a stranger, I just love everyone! Do you think you could be my forever snuggler? Then, what are you waiting for? You can read even more about me on my foster brother’s blog.

Amelia is available for adoption through Homeward Bound Dog Rescue of NY, located in Albany, New York.
