Rescue Spotlight – Project Rescue Chicago

May 15, 2013

Project Rescue Chicago / Chicago, Illinois

Mission statement: Project Rescue Chicago believes that all dogs, no matter their breed or background, deserve the chance to live as pets. PRC has made it their mission to prepare rescue dogs for this opportunity through socialization with dogs and people, an introduction to good manners and basic obedience, and proper vet care. In addition, PRC feels it is just as important to empower adopters with the tools necessary to continue what they have begun and strive to remain a resource for years to come.

About the organization: Three long-time animal rescue volunteers decided to come together to start their own group in 2009. PRC dogs live at Unleashed, a doggie daycare/boarding facility in Chicago where they are crate trained, socialized with dogs and people, and prepared for adoption. PRC also has a network of foster homes who will take the dogs once they are fully vetted and healthy.

Admission policy: Dogs are taken into the adoption program from open-access shelters.
