Mission statement: Unleashed is a licensed, non-profit animal shelter that save the lives of homeless pets and strives to improve the image of bully breeds in society. Working daily with high kill shelters in the Kansas City area to pull pets to safety, Unleashed relies on fosters, adopters, volunteers and donations to make it all happen!

About the organization: Unleashed was founded in June 2011 and was 100% foster based until March 2012 when the physical facility in Mission, Kansas was acquired. Animals are housed in both the shelter as well as in foster homes.

Admission policy: Rescue only (not open access).

How to volunteer: Volunteer training occurs every Wednesday evening at the shelter at 6:00 pm; foster training is available at the shelter every Tuesday at 6:00 pm. No appointment needed.

Post-adoption support: Training is offered at the facility every Wednesday at 6:30 pm and every Sunday at 5:00 pm. For adopters, the first class is no charge and additional classes are only $10!
