Banana Oat Bars

These bars are a little bit sweet, with a satisfying texture. They were so satisfying, in fact, that someone [human] ate most of them before pictures could be taken.

  • 3 c rolled oats (not quick oats)
  • 1 ¼ c all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ c honey
  • ½ c milk
  • ¼ c vegetable oil

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Combine eggs, bananas, honey, milk, and oil in a large bowl; mix until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, incorporating thoroughly after each addition.
  • Evenly spread mixture on a lightly greased 9” x 14” cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, keeping a close eye at the end to make sure they don’t burn.
  • Remove from oven, and cut into desired size.
  • Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Note: You can substitute a different type of flour if your dog is gluten-sensitive, just be aware that different flours absorb liquids differently, so you may have to adjust the ingredients accordingly.
