Mali – ADOPTED!

March 7, 2013

Rescue Dog of the Week

Sweet, shy Mali came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County in Annapolis, Maryland when a staff member was on his way home and saw her in the road. Not one to ignore her, he picked her up and took her home with him. The next day, he called animal control to report her found. He held on to Mali while she waited out her “stray time”, but no one ever came for her. As the staff member rents and his landlord doesn’t allow pit bull dogs, Mali came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County in hopes of finding a home.

Mali has been waiting ever so patiently for a home, but Mali is not like the other dogs at the AACSPCA who rush to the gate to greet you. Nope, Mali is rather shy and a little timid, so she would prefer to just hang back and let you come to her. Mali does take a bit of time to bond to people, but there are ways to make her come around a little more quickly. And, today, we’ll let you in on those secrets: 1) Mali LOVES other dogs, so, if you have another dog with you, you are deemed trustworthy, and 2) Mali LOVES to go for rides in the car, so, take her for a ride, and she’s yours!

Mali is not at all high energy, so once you take her home and she has bonded with you during the car ride, she will probably just hang with you on the couch. If you happen to have another dog, Mali is likely to just hang out wherever your other dog is.

Mali has been with the AACSPCA for about a year now, and, as she is only 2 years old, that’s half her life spent with us. Yep, we think that’s too long as well, so help us to find that perfect home for Mali, one which includes lots of car rides, a couch for lounging, and doggie friends to play with!
