StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

Hi, they call me Harvard, probably because I’m so smart. I love to study my training and I aim to please. But I should probably start my story further back.

I came to Kitsap Humane Society in February as a stray and, boy, was I in a bad way. My eye was a mess. It was infected, swollen and painful. I really couldn’t be myself in that condition. I was pretty grumpy. The nice shelter veterinarians could tell I was really uncomfortable, so they made my care a priority, scheduling me for surgery right away. And that’s how I ended up with one eye. I don’t mind one bit, either. I feel so much better!

Now that I’m feeling “canine” again, I’m able to enjoy some KHS perks, like lots of walks on nearby trails, kennel breaks spent resting in employees’ offices and even a weekend vacation with a volunteer foster friend! During my time away, I impressed lots of people at dog-friendly stores and parks with my good manners. At the shelter I’ve been practicing the commands “sit” and “down” and I’m working on learning a new one, “bed.”

This has all been nice, but I really wish I could be continuing my training from the comfort of my forever home with the patience of a mature, loving family. I’m only 3 years old, so we could be friends forever! I would really love to be the only dog in my new home. Honestly, I’d rather not share the attention with other dogs or young children.

The people at KHS wanted me to tell you I’m neutered, microchipped and ready to go home today. Just fill out an application and check out the adoption guide so you know what to expect. Kitsap Humane Society is located in Silverdale, WA.

One Response to “Harvard”
  1. I have a one-eyed pit bull and he is the love of my life. I hope Harvard finds his soul-mate too.
