StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

Meet Rusty! He is a 7-year-old pit bull who is looking for a permanent loving family. His senior owner had him since he was a pup but unfortunately his home was destroyed during the Hurricane Irene, and sadly, the family lost everything. Rusty’s owner asked Red Paw Emergency Relief to help him find his beloved pet a good home since he can no longer care for him.

Rusty has been in foster care but he needs a permanent family. Rusty would do best in a pet free home due to all of his changes in his life and no children under the age of 12. While Rusty would be considered an Elderbull, there is nothing senior about him. Rusty has the energy and exuberance of a young dog. He enjoys taking long walks with his foster mom, especially if he can get a little run in along the way. When at home, Rusty is a couch potato who excels at taking an afternoon nap, snoring included! Rusty thinks he is a lapdog, so if you like to snuggle while watching TV or reading a good book, Rusty is for you! Rusty is extremely affectionate and likes to give a lot of kisses. Rusty enjoys playing with his Kong Wobbler and he eats most of his meals from it. He also likes plush chew toys, especially if he can take them along on his morning walk. Rusty knows some basic commands (sit, down, stay) and would benefit from training from an experienced pit bull owner. Please contact for adoption information.
