StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

Queen is available for adoption through Camp Companion in southeast Minnesota. She is an 8-year-old love-a-bull that is micro-chipped, spayed, up-to-date on shots, and approximately 55lbs. She is a rescue from a Reservation in South Dakota where a dog-ban was introduced and up until joining Camp Companion, was on a chain outside in the chilly temperatures. Now that she is with a foster family, she has put on some much-needed weight and is thoroughly enjoying the comforts of a home.

Queen is potty and crate trained and knows basic commands. She is quickly learning her manners and how to walk well with a gentle leader. She is also attending Obedience classes each week. Queen wants nothing more than to be near her human — she’s a total lover and enjoys a lap to sit on or feet to lie near.

Queen is selective of her doggie companions and currently lives with two submissive male dogs and several cats in her foster home. She has done well with a very slow introduction, transition, and supervision. She loves to play with her foster brothers and spends half the time flopping around on her back or trying to nibble a leg – a fun sight to watch! She is cohabitating well with the cats and ignores them for the most part. Outside, she is interested in those squirrelly squirrels and other critters. She loves sniffing around her fenced-in yard but is all too happy to come back inside and curl up.

Queen has the perfect amount of energy — enough to be playful as she loves chasing a Kong and playing tug with a rope but she is perfectly happy to lay at your feet as you work on the computer or watch you cook in the kitchen. She enjoys a good snuggle so morning snuggles sessions in bed are becoming quite common! Her ‘welcome-home-wiggle’ makes you feel like the most-loved person on this planet.

Queen’s adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in learning about Queen or other animals available for adoption please check out Camp Companion’s website, or check them out on Facebook. You may reach them by phone: 507-951-7801.
