Precious

StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

Meet Precious!
Two years ago, Precious came into the Downtown Dog Rescue program after surviving animal cruelty, where she was chained 24/7 to a tree with no shelter and little, if any, food or water. She was shut down, weighing 1/3 of her normal body weight, and missing a toe and part of her ear. She looked pretty hopeless.

Fast forward four months later, Precious started in our play groups, where she learned how to play like a dog and to be social with other dogs. Precious is leashed trained and crate trained.

Precious is currently being fostered in a home with multiple dogs. She goes to work with her foster family every day to further increase her social skills with people and dogs of all sizes. Precious is excellent at meeting new people, including small children.

The ideal home for Precious would be one that has a dominant male, like our mascot Clancy, who is her favorite dog. In our pack, she is the most dominant, balanced female who can tolerate bad play behavior, walking away from play that gets too wild. She has been spayed, is current on all vaccinations, and has been micro-chipped. Precious has been ready and waiting for her forever home now for over a year.
