Kissing Booth National Tour

After the pit bull kissing booth photo went viral, Peace Love and Pit Bulls hopes to take the booth on the road

By Anthony S.

On Oct. 22, the Las Vegas Pit Crew held their second annual event for National Pit Bull Awareness Day in front of the El Cortez Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, Nev. More than 70 pit bulls attended and, yes, they all got along just fine. But that’s not what everyone ended up sharing and posting.

Tino, the founder of Peace, Love & Pit Bulls, had no idea his kissing booth with five, yes five, pit bulls – Boo-boo, Rocky, Buddy, Buster and Shorty – were all about to be famous and to go viral on Facebook!

Here’s how it happened: Chris Hughes, proud parent of Gremlin, a bait dog rescued in Ohio, had met Tino at NPBAD while in Las Vegas for the No More Homeless Pets Conference. Chris took a picture of the Peace Love and Pit Bulls Kissing Booth and posted it on Gremlin’s Facebook page and The Patrick Movement for America’s Facebook page. As a result, the Peace Love and Pit Bulls Facebook page jumped from 3,000 to 5,500 likes in three days. In addition, the photo was being shared all over.

“People were calling me saying they were seeing my dogs all over the web,” Tino said. “I got the idea before our 2010 event and did it right out of the back of my jeep, but the gate was a little cumbersome. So this year I wanted to make it bigger, more noticeable and convenient. My dad had this trailer made from the bed of a mini truck. I draped it with Peace Love and Pit Bull banners and a big kissing booth sign on the front and put five pit bulls in the back. It worked out perfectly for the dogs – they got to be comfortable all day, and it was super-convenient for ‘kiss-ees’ to get a smooch.”

Since the sudden popularity of his kissing booth, Tino has decided to take his mission to change public opinion of pit bull type dogs to a new level by taking his pack and their kissing booth on the road. His goal is to introduce his pack of dogs to people everywhere, while raising money for pit bull rescues and advocacy groups around the country. He and his team are currently working on securing corporate sponsorships to help fund these public appearances.

This is wonderful!!! I have been a Pit Bull owner for over 10 years and they are such loving dogs. It is so upsetting to me that people think they are vicious killers. I really hope more people can do things like this to prove to everyone that Pit Bulls are wonderful, loving, and loyal dogs. There is a Pit Bull named Snoopy that I’m trying to keep from getting put to sleep right now. If you all could click on this link and read the story about him and what happened to him I would greatly appreciate. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/283/please-help-save-snoopy/

Thank you to all of you that do things to celebrate Pit Bulls!!!

My babygirl is ready to turn 11 on June 22nd!!! She’s my second pitty since I was 16 and both have lived a very long and spoiled life…but i did grow up with pitbulls on the farm!!! They are sooo loving and warm that it makes me sad how people could be so cruel to these wonderful LOVES in their world…just goes to show ya how many people don’t care or love themselves let alone a BEAUTIFUL, WARM & LOVING PITBULL!!!
