StubbyDog’s Rescue Dog of the Week is sponsored by Zobo Pet Products, who will be giving away a free collar for every dog adopted through this program.

My name is Devin. I am a 4-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. I have been living in this place called a shelter since June 12, 2010 (that’s almost 7 dog years!!). It’s ok here but…I would much rather be in a nice home. I’m not sure exactly what that is but it sure sounds amazing! I have worked very hard with the staff and volunteers to become a good boy. I went away for 2 weeks to learn basic obedience training; I can sit, wait, and I take treats very nice. I also walk very well on a gentle leader. Some very nice human volunteers have been taking me to all kinds of places to meet new people so I can build up my confidence.

I don’t like to talk about my past very much because it is not good. My previous humans were not very nice to me at all. That’s probably why I am afraid of men (especially the ones wearing a hat or glasses) but after a few minutes, I start to like and trust them too…that’s just the kind of dog I am.

When I do finally get into a home, my human friends there need to be over the age of 10 and please no cats! I am a little picky about my dog friends, too, but I do seem to get along better with the ladies.

So, here I sit in my kennel month after month waiting. I really want someone to give me a chance. I am a fun dog who just wants to be LOVED in a HOME. I will be your friend forever and will return your trust and love many times over…I PROMISE.

If you or someone you know may be interested in meeting me, please share my Facebook page, please tell them to come and visit me at the Humane Society for Hamilton County. The shelter is located in Noblesville, Indiana.

Although I’ve been here a long time with only a few visitors, I know that once you get to know me you will invite me into your life. Will it be you that gives me the chance?? I’ll be waiting for you. – Devin
