Food …Blanket …Girl

March 28, 2011

Stubby lived his life on a chain until one day he broke free and ran away. A Good Samaritan found him and brought him to the shelter. Now his real story begins…

I have a blanket and food and it’s warm, but it’s a little scary here.

This place – the shelter – is loud. People come and stick their fingers inside my cage and I don’t know what they want.

When they come to take me outside I go with them, but I’m happy to be back in my cage for when the girl comes.

The girl comes to visit me every day.

I wag my tail when she’s here. She brings me treats and an extra-soft blanket that smells like her. We go into a little room and she sits on the floor and I curl up in her lap and sleep.

She doesn’t know that I hear her asking the people if anyone has been here to look at me. They say no, and tell her that it’s difficult to find homes for pit bulls.

I wonder what a pit bull is.
