My pit bull, Jynx, has always been fond of chasing anything that will run, especially me. I’d always wondered what might happen if she caught something, and I actually worried about that. The two of us were vacationing in Telluride, Colo., hiking on a mountain trail, when I found out.

But he did tell Marnie that if I passed my CGC, it would go a long way in showing people like Mr. Skinner that I was a good dog.

Here at StubbyDog, we say that we are working to rebrand the pit bull, undoing that negative association and replacing it with a more accurate description of these dogs.

A San Antonio family contacted Love-A-Bull in mid-December after their landlord refused the family’s pet deposit and threatened to evict them due to their pit bull type service dog’s breed.

2012 seemed to come out of nowhere (at least for me), and now we are already almost half a month in. We are busy at StubbyDog taking a look back at our progress and impact this last year, and planning some pretty exciting things for 2012.

It’s hard to grasp the sheer number of homeless dogs put to death in shelters each day. Shelters estimate 5,500. But that’s just a number that can’t tell the story. Nor can bios or memorials. But it can perhaps be accomplished in art.
